Biography:

Keith currently lives and works in San Francisco, CA in the neighborhood of Cole Valley. Prior to moving to California,  he spent several years working for architecture firms in Nantucket, MA, Aspen, CO and Chicago. With over a decade of experience, Keith has completed projects ranging from residential homes to the master planning of a million square foot ski resort development in the Rocky Mountains.

Keith attended the University of Notre Dame's Master of Architecture program for its focus on classical architecture and the19th century French École des Beaux-Arts model. He is a third generation architect following in the footsteps of his Father and Grandfather before him. This architectural lineage, stretches back to the 1920’s including his Grandfather Thomas, Father Lloyd and Uncle Hugh.

Many of the works displayed within the site are examples of the Beaux-arts style which uses traditional hand-drafting techniques. These renderings are created using watercolor paints on thick sheets of 22" x 30" paper soaked in water then stretched over plywood boards.  He believes in the distinct creative process that exists in the connection between the pencil and hand. That being said, the efficiencies of the computer have not been overlooked. Upon completion of the design phase, the drawings are transferred to the computer and completed using the latest computer drafting and 3D modeling technologies.

Keith is committed to the importance of classical architecture and urban design yet he also understands and appreciates the modern styles and philosophies that dominate the architectural community today. With this in mind, he focuses on durability and thoughtful design understanding that it is in the coexistence of these ideas that great sustainable architecture exists.
